Our client is looking for the next person to join their dynamic and growing team at a leading glass company in Cambridge! They are looking for a skilled 2D CNC Machine Operator to help produce high-quality glass products with precision and attention to detail. If you have CNC machine experience, particularly with glass cutting, and are passionate about craftsmanship, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

As a 2D CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the 2D CNC machines to ensure precise cutting and shaping of glass products. This role requires the ability to interpret drawings, patterns, and specifications accurately to ensure each product meets the high standards of quality.

You will monitor machine performance regularly and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, making necessary adjustments to keep the process running smoothly and efficiently. Your attention to detail and quick problem-solving skills will be key to minimising downtime and maintaining production flow.

In addition to operating the machines, you will conduct quality checks on finished glass products to ensure they meet customer specifications and internal quality control standards. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work space will be vital to ensuring both your own safety and the efficiency of the team.

Collaboration with other team members is essential to meet production targets and deadlines. You'll need to communicate effectively with the production team to coordinate the smooth flow of operations and ensure customer orders are completed on time.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operating CNC machines, preferably with the Intermac brand and in the glass industry is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong understanding of 2D CNC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on producing high-quality glass products.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and basic repairs.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
