Key Responsibilities:

  • As Head Chef, you will lead from the front designing & executing menus that showcase innovation, sustainability, quality with local ingredients.
  • Develop & execute seasonal menus that cater to diverse tastes while utilising locally sourced, fresh ingredients.
  • Lead, mentor, & manage a team fostering a positive & collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, & presentation.
  • Staff rostering and planning based around events and seasonal peaks.
  • Collaborate with management to plan & execute special events and catering services.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, hygiene standards, & food quality controls.
  • Manage budgeting and reporting of inventory, food cost, & kitchen supplies to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Foster relationships with local suppliers to ensure a steady supply of premium & fresh, in season ingredients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-end restaurant or hospitality establishment.
  • Culinary diploma or relevant certification; additional certifications will be a plus.
  • Strong leadership & team management skills & ability to motivate & inspire the team.
  • Exceptional organisational skills & ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food cost control, inventory management, & menu planning.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
  • Excellent communication & ability to work closely with front-of-house staff & management.
  • Ability to compile and present both financial and non-financial reports.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, & holidays as required by the business.
