We are recruiting for Support Workers to support a client with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder), Monday - Sunday based in Palmerston North.

Various shift opportunities available.

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting our client with various tasks, including household activities, daily personal cares, accessing community facilities, shopping, and attending medical appointments.

Skills and attributes required:

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Empathy for others, resilience in dealing with challenging behaviour.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deescalate challenging situations.
• A positive can-do attitude towards personal learning and development of new skills.
• Must be currently in New Zealand with correct entitlement to commence work.

Preferred requirements:

• Full Drivers license and own vehicle
• Experience in working with ASD clients and clients with challenging behaviour.
• Willing to work towards the NZQA Qualification in Health and Well-being
