Our client is a leading Marine company and are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their dynamic team as a Trainee CAD Technician. Position Overview: As a Trainee CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our design team by creating accurate and detailed technical drawings using CAD software. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for design and a desire to learn and grow in a collaborative and forward-thinking work environment.

This role is Monday - Friday, hours to be discussed with successful applicant.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD software under the guidance of senior draughtspersons.
  2. Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and specifications.
  3. Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings, adhering to company standards and industry regulations.
  4. Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  5. Learn and apply company-specific drafting procedures and standards.
  6. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance CAD skills and knowledge.
  7. Operating CNC and laser machines.
  8. Attending the odd tradeshows and spending a week away up to twice a year.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in CAD drafting is a plus.
  2. No prior professional experience required; however, a strong interest in CAD and design is ideal.
  3. Competent computer skills are essential.
  4. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new software.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Current OSH certificate is preferred but not essential.
