About the Clients:

We are currently looking for passionate Support Workers to work with several clients with spinal cord and brain injuries in South Auckland. Each client has an individual routine; some are very involved with community groups and social activities and others really value spending time at home with whanau and friends.

We have day, night and weekend shifts available through the week. Candidates must be available to work weekends as majority of shifts are over weekends. You will however have a fixed weekly roster and can pick-up additional shifts when available as well.

About the role:

Depending on the client and the severity of their injury, you will be required to complete some or all these tasks:

  • Personal cares - bowel cares and catheter management
  • Complete stretches and transfers using hoists
  • Household chores, meal preparation and medication administration
  • Assisting the client with accessing community facilities, going shopping, meeting friends and attending medical appointments

Skills and attributes required:

  • Right to work in New Zealand
  • Full New Zealand Driver's Licence and your own reliable transport
  • Willingness to study towards qualifications
  • Ability to commit to the position long term
  • Experience preferred but not necessary
  • Willing to work one weekend day a week
