About the role:

We are recruiting a team of nurses to provide support for our client and respite for his whanau. You will provide clinical support - management of trachy, ventilator and oral suctioning, skin integrity, bowel and bladder cares, medication administration for a young man with high and complex needs. You will work autonomously to assist this young man to maximise his quality of life and provide respite for the whanau. Specialist training will be provided.

Applicants must be fully compliant with the Government Covid 19 public health response order and have the right to work in NZ.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meeting day to day care and nursing support needs
  • Administration of prescribed medications
  • Management of Trachy, ventilator and airway clearance
  • Bowel and bladder management
  • Lead emergency response as needed
  • Maintaining excellent skin integrity
  • Liaison with primary and specialty health services- as required
  • Clear and concise documentation

Key competencies:

  • A registered nurse with a current practicing certificate
  • Experience in acute nursing, complex disability or rehabilitation preferred
  • Minimum of 2years practice as a registered nurse
  • Full driver's licence and a reliable vehicle
  • Able to work autonomously and/or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills -verbal and written
