Support workers required to assist our rural clients with spinal cord and brain injuries. Clients require complex care, home-help and community support.

Drake Medox supports individuals with complex injury and disability support needs to live independently at home with our professional homecare staff.

About the Client:

Seeking passionate support workers to provide care for clients with spinal cord and brain injuries in and around Location. Each client has an individual routine; some are very involved with community groups and social activities and others really value spending time at home with whanau and friends.

We have day, night and weekend shifts available throughout the week. We require flexible individuals who can work a combination of these shifts and work at least one day during each weekend. You will have a fixed weekly roster and can pick-up additional shifts when available.

About the role:

Depending on the client and the severity of their injury, you will be required to complete some or all these tasks:

• Personal cares - bowel cares and catheter management
• Complete stretches and transfers using hoists
• Household chores, meal preparation and medication administration
• Assisting the client with accessing community facilities, going shopping, meeting friends and attending medical appointments

Skills and attributes required:

• Must be able to travel out of town
• Must be available to work evenings and sleepover shifts
• Right to work in New Zealand
• Full New Zealand Driver's Licence and your own reliable transport
• Willingness to study towards qualifications
• Ability to commit to the position long term
• Experience is preferred
