Assistant Production Manager

Role Overview:

As the Production Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing our chocolate manufacturing operations. Your leadership skills, attention to detail, and passion for teamwork will drive the success of our production team. You will be responsible for maintaining high production standards, optimising efficiency, ensuring quality control, and leading a diverse team of fun and talented individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of dedicated production staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources, training, and support to be great.
  • Manage daily production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee the production process, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Continuously monitor and optimise production processes to maximise efficiency, minimise waste, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics, to streamline operations and enhance overall performance.
  • Champion a culture of safety, promoting adherence to health and safety protocols, and fostering a positive working environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a chocolate or confectionery production environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift 25kg bags is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and ever-changing production environment.
